SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball
team took seventh place overall at the Hall of Fame Tournament,
splitting a pair of matches Saturday to stand at 15-14 overall this
season. The Polar Bears fell to Brandeis 3-0 before bouncing back
to beat Smith 3-1. Gillian Page, who led the team in kills over the
weekend, was named the All-Tournament team.
Against the Judges, the Polar Bears dropped a 25-19, 25-13, 25-22
decision. Skye Lawrence led the team with eight kills and 10 digs,
while Page posted seven kills. Jenna Diggs earned 19 assists and 12
digs in the loss.
Bowdoin bounced back to take a 25-16, 28-26, 7-25, 25-20 win over
Smith in their final match of the tournament. Kristin Hanczor had
her best match of the tournament with 12 kills and five total
blocks to lead the squad. Stephanie Drumright earned seven kills
and six aces while Page posted 11 kills and 16 digs. Skye Lawrence
had a team-high 19 digs while Diggs posted 35 assists.
Bowdoin will play at Endicott on Wednesday evening before closing
out the regular season with a three key matches at a NESCAC meet
hosted by Colby next Friday and Saturday.
