BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's soccer team, off to
a 3-0 start this season, have been ranked seventh in the latest
national poll released on Tuesday. The poll is coordinated by the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
The Polar Bears, who face Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon,
peaked at number five in the national polls last season, and are
ranked first in New England entering play this week. The Polar
Bears have won 11 straight regular season games, and including
their appearance in the NESCAC and NCAA Tournaments last year, the
Polar Bears are 13-1-2 in their last 16 games, dating back to
September of 2003.
Bowdoin gets the chance to avenge their last defeat when they
travel to play at Williams on Sunday, September 26. The Ephs
(ranked ninth in the nation) defeated the Polar Bears 1-0 for the
NESCAC Championship last season.
