BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College women's basketball player
Lora Trenkle (Surry, Maine) was named New England Small College
Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week for her stellar
performances in two games last week. The Polar Bears (18-1), are
ranked sixth in the latest national poll and currently sit atop the
NESCAC Standings. Bowdoin controls their own playoff destiny
entering the final weekend of play, as they are the only team with
one loss in conference play (6-1).
Trenkle was outstanding in two games last week, as she led the team
in scoring in victories over Salem State and arch-rival Colby. She
scored 17 points and added four assists in a 66-47 win over Salem
on Thursday evening before dropping 26 points against Colby on
Saturday. Trenkle is first on the team and third in the conference
in scoring at 15.3 points per game, and is fourth in the conference
in Field Goal Percentage (.447). She is also fourth in the league
in Three-Point percentage (.347) and in Free-Throw percentage
(.778).
The Polar Bears will host Colby-Sawyer on Monday evening at 7:00
and play Maine-Farmington at home on Tuesday at 5:30.
