BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's basketball
program was ranked among the best in the nation in the preseason,
and the first two weeks of the season have seen the program live up
to that ranking. In national polls released today, the women's
basketball team has moved up to number 14.
The team (3-0) has cruised to an unbeaten start after winning
two games at the Wellesley Invitational and downing the University
of New England in their home-opener, 80- 66. Sophomore Lora Trenkle
(Surry, Maine) is pacing the team with 19.7 points per game and is
shooting 60% (9-15) from three-point range this year. The Polar
Bears will travel to Roger Williams this Saturday before returning
home for their last game before winter break, December 8 vs.
