Pickard Softball Diamond

One of the newest additions to the Bowdoin athletic facility complex at Pickard Field, the state-of-the-art Bowdoin softball field opened in March of 2024 to universal praise and is generally considered one of the top softball-only complexes in New England. Surrounded by picturesque Maine pines, the facility includes a state-of-the-art field turf playing surface, accessible seating, press box, new heated dugouts, both clay and turf bullpens, and a new double-occupancy batting cage. Just steps away from Farley Field House and Watson Arena, the Polar Bears use the facility for practices and games and the field is fully equipped for quick snow removal, if necessary, in the very early spring, as well as dark-sky compliant lighting fixtures that allow for evening practices and competitions to avoid missed class time. The press box is set up with two separate areas for game operations and full broadcast support
