Hobie Holbach

Paul "Hobie" Holbach was named assistant coach for the Bowdoin men's and women's squash programs in the fall of 2017. The head women's tennis coach at Bowdoin since 2007, he has led the program to unprecedented success since his arrival, including multiple NCAA Regional Championships and a berth in the 2016 NCAA semifinals.

Throughout his career, he has coached numerous Division I and Division III tennis All-Americans and has vast experience coaching at club and professional tennis. Holbach graduated cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1980 as one of the most distinguished players in the history of the school. A two-time Division III All-American and Academic All-American, Holbach was the 1980 Division III Doubles Champion and finished his career with a 113-35 mark in singles and 135-20 record in doubles play. Subsequently, Holbach was inducted into the Gustavus Athletic Hall of Fame.
