BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Marcques Houston as an assistant coach for the track & field programs.
Houston is a 2018 graduate of Colby College and will coach the jumping events with
Amanda Kulas with a focus on horizontal jumps with the Polar Bears.
An assistant for the last two years at his alma mater, Houston participated in sprints and relays during his time at Colby, earning multiple All-Maine, All-NESCAC and All-New England honors during his career and qualifying for the NCAA Championship with his 4x400-meter relay team in 2017.
Off the track, Houston was extremely active in his four years at Colby, serving as Student Government Association Co-President from May 2017 to May 2018 while also acting as a Senior Admissions Fellow during that time. Houston also worked with the Maine People's Alliance and was co-organizer for the Maine March for Racial Justice.
A double major in English and American Studies, Houston also studied one semester abroad at the University of Botswana.
