WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Both Bowdoin College cross-country teams finished seventh in their respective races at the NCAA New England Regional on Saturday hosted by Williams College. Despite the teams missing out on nationals, Carolyn Baskir qualified as an individual for the championship next weekend hosted by Wartburg College in Iowa.

The Polar Bear women were seventh of 51 teams while the men earned seventh of 49. The top five teams in each region qualify for the NCAA Championship meet.

Baskir had the top individual showing of any Polar Bear, claiming 15th in the 6k women's race in 22:52.3. She led a large contingent of Bowdoin runners who took All-New England honors (top 35).

In addition to Baskir, Grace Kerr (28th) and Christina Argueta (29th) netted All-Region recognition. In the men's 8k competition, Stan Berkow led the Bowdoin pack with a 19th-place finish in 26:17.4. Colin Ogilvie (26th) and Samuel Seekins (28th) also earned All-New England.
