BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team has received a Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association for its work in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

It is the eleventh straight year that the Polar Bears have received the honor.

On the court, the Polar Bears recorded a 15-10 record, advancing to the NESCAC semifinals last fall. The Polar Bears will open the 2018 campaign on September 5 at the University of Southern Maine. The complete schedule is available online here.
