Women's Volleyball Finishes Unbeaten Weekend at Midcoast Classic

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College volleyball team polished off a perfect weekend at the Midcoast Classic with a pair of non-conference wins Saturday.

The Polar Bears improve to 11-4 on the season and are 46-1 at home dating back to 2008. Bowdoin picked up a pair of tidy 3-0 wins on the day, sweeping Brandeis (25-16, 25-21, 25-20) in the morning and Colby-Sawyer (25-15, 25-19, 25-12) in the afternoon.

Against the Judges, Emese Gaal continued her strong play, recording 15 kills and hitting at a 41.9% while also collecting 10 digs. Christy Jewett earned nine kills to go with 10 digs and three blocks while Quincy Leech passed out 32 assists in the win.

In the win over the Chargers, Jewett had a game-high nine kills for the Polar Bears, who also received three kills and five blocks from Clare Geyer, 11 digs from Taylor Vail and 23 assists from Leech.

Winners of four straight matches, Bowdoin will look to continue its winning ways with a key NESCAC match at Colby on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
