Bowdoin Splits Pair of Matches in Connecticut


HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's volleyball team split a pair of NESCAC matches held at Trinity College on Saturday. The Polar Bears defeated the host Bantams 3-0 before dropping a heartbreaking 3-2 decision to Connecticut College. The Polar Bears stand at 14-12 (3-4 NESCAC) this season.

The Polar Bears were outstanding in their opening match of the day, cruising past the Bantams 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-23). Gillian Page led the team with 10 kills and and 13 digs while Kristin Hanczor notched nine kills. Jenna Diggs posted 25 assists and 21 digs.

Bowdoin's afternoon match was a back-and-forth affair, with Connecticut College eventually pulling out a 25-23, 21-25, 25-16, 20-25, 15-9 decision. Hanczor had a team-high 13 kills and five block assists. Diggs had 35 assists and 14 digs.

Bowdoin will return to action next weekend at the Hall of Fame Tournament hosted by Smith College.
