2018 Recap: Bowdoin had a fantastic winter in 2018, highlighted by the Distance Medley Relay team's national championship-winning performance at the Division III Championship in March. The quartet of Caroline Shipley, Sara Ory, Claire Traum and Sarah Kelley smashed their school-record time by six seconds to finish in 11:37.18, winning the crown by over four seconds. As a team, Bowdoin came away with a win at the Bowdoin Invitational III and finished second at the Maine State Championship.
2019 Preview: Bowdoin returns several of their top scorers from a year ago and will look to those returners to help anchor what is expected to be an talented squad. Athletes to watch include Morgan Gallagher and Samantha Schaefer (sprints), Brittney McKinley (200 meters), Serena Jones (pentathlon) and Belinda St. Louis (shot put and weight throw). The Polar Bears are fortunate to have an extremely home-heavy schedule this year with six meets scheduled for Farley Field House. In addition to four home invitationals (Jan. 12/19/26 and Feb. 16) the Polar Bears will also play host to the Maine State Meet (Friday, Feb. 1) and the New England Division III Championship (Feb. 23).
