CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin women's indoor track & field team rode several strong relay performances to a ninth-place finish overall at the New England Division III Championship on Saturday at MIT.
The Polar Bears totaled 21 team points to finish in a tie for ninth with Conn. College. Six NESCAC teams placed in the top-nine of the championship with the host MIT (149) edging Williams (140) for the title.
- The Distance Medley Relay team boasted the top showing of the day for the Polar Bears, as Demi Feder, Sara Ory, Meghan Bellerose and Caroline Corban took second place in a time of 12:17.67
- Bowdoin had a trio of other solid relay performances, placing fourth in the 4x800 meter relay (Eleanor Brakewood, Caroline Corban, Demi Feder, Meghan Bellerose, 9:34.77) and fifth in both the 4x400 meter relay (Georgia Bolduc, Caroline Shipley, Samantha Schaefer, Sara Ory, 4:03.19) and the 4x200 meter relay (Morgen Gallagher, Georgia Bolduc, Amani Hite, Samantha Schaefer, 1:47.18).
- Bowdoin will return to action at the Open New England Championship next weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
