Women's Tennis Set For NCAA Regional at Home This Weekend

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team will host an NCAA Division III Regional beginning on Friday morning at Pickard Courts in Brunswick.

The action begins on Friday morning with Nichols (15-1) facing Colby-Sawyer (12-6) at 8:00 a.m., followed by SUNY New Paltz (17-1) and Husson (10-1) at 10:30 a.m. The second round will feature Bowdoin (14-5) against the winner of Nichols/Colby-Sawyer at 8:00 a.m. and MIT (16-3) facing the New Paltz/Husson winner at 10:30 a.m. Sunday's regional final is scheduled for noon.

Bowdoin Notes: After a one-year absence, the Bowdoin women's tennis team returns to the NCAA Tournament for the 16th time…the Polar Bears have qualified for the NCAA Quarterfinals on four previous occasions, most recently in 2017…an extremely young squad, the Polar Bears have just one senior on their roster and have relied heavily on first-years…Bowdoin's three-member first-year class has totaled 45 singles wins this season, including a team-best 19 victories from Fleming Landau, 14 from Devon Wolfe and 11 wins at the number one position for Julia Marks…the Polar Bears own one of the strongest strength of schedules in the nation and defeated both Amherst and Williams in the same year for the first time in program history.
