First-Years Lead Women's Tennis at ITA Regional Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's tennis team performed well in its most competitive outing of the fall season – the ITA New England Regional this weekend at Williams College.

Tournament Highlights

  • Julia Marks won a trio of matches, advancing to the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-1 win over seventh-seeded Patricia Obeld of Tufts before falling to top-seeded Victoria Wu of Wesleyan 6-2, 6-3.
  • Devon Wolfe won two matches to reach the third round, claiming a pair of straight-set wins, including a 6-0, 6-3 win over Middlebury's Ruhl Kamdar.
  • In doubles play, Bowdoin's duo of Tasha Christ and Rachel Bercovitch won a first-round match, 8-5, before dropping to Wesleyan's top-seeded pairing in the second round.
