2016-17 Recap (7-13): After a rough start, the Polar Bears finished the regular season strong, winning four of their final six matches prior to the NESCAC Tournament. At NESCAC's, the team placed sixth overall, coming up just short to Amherst in the fifth-place match, 5-4. The team finished 24th at nationals to end the year, losing three matches in the Walker Cup Division, including two more 5-4 heartbreakers at the hands of William Smith and Dickinson.
2017-18 Preview: Bowdoin returns a number of players from last year's unit, including six of the nine starters in the lineup from nationals. The Polar Bears return their 2-4 players from last year in Lindsey Bindra, Alexa Horwitz and Tully Ross. Ross led the team with 14 victories a year ago while Horwitz was tied for second on the team with 12.
The Polar Bears will open their campaign with rival Bates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, followed by Connecticut College on Sunday, November 19. A loaded schedule includes home matches against St. Lawrence, Middlebury and Williams (Jan. 12-14) on three consecutive days and a regular season-ending weekend against Tufts, Mount Holyoke and Brown (Jan. 27-28).
