Bowdoin Squash Splits Saturday Matches Against Brown

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's squash team defeated Brown 6-3 while the women fell 9-0 to the Bears in Saturday action at the Lubin Family Squash Center.

The Polar Bear men, ranked 21st nationally, upset 17th-ranked Brown to improve to 5-6 on the season. After falling to the 10th-ranked Brown women, the 20th-ranked Bowdoin team also stands at 5-6 on the year.

In his final home match, Stephan Danyluk put the Polar Bears over the top in the men's match. Thanks to strong performances at the bottom of the ladder for Bowdoin, the Polar Bears held a 4-3 lead in the match. Danyluk dropped the first two sets but rallied for an improbable 3-2 victory to clinch the victory for Bowdoin. Christian Dorff (#5) and Maxwell Bearse (#6) both took dominating 3-0 wins. Benjamin Bristol (#7) and Will Winmill (#8) both battled for 3-2 victories and Cyrus Nassikas closed out the ladder with a 3-1 win as well.

In the women's loss, Bowdoin had a handful of valiant showings, including Alden Drake's five-set loss at #4 and Michaela Martin's five-set setback at #3.
