BRUNSWICK, Maine - Three members of the Bowdoin College squash teams have been named All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in selections announced on Thursday.
From the men's team, senior Barrett Takesian (Falmouth, Maine) and junior Andrew Hilboldt (New Canaan, Conn.) garnered Second Team selections while first-year Torey Lee (Beverly, Mass.) took Second Team honors for the women's squad.
Playing primarily at the number one through three positions this winter, Takesian has been outstanding, posting a 21-6 record in 27 matches this winter, including a 14-match winning streak from January into February. It is his first All-Conference selection. Hilboldt saw action in 25 matches this season, seeing action mostly at number one, but also playing at two and three. Against some of the top players in all of collegiate squash, he earned 10 victories on the campaign.
Bursting onto the scene for the Bowdoin women this year was rookie Torey Lee. Lee played all 23 of her matches at the number one position for the Polar Bears, against several of the nation's top competitors. She earned nine wins in her debut at the top level of collegiate squash and will lead the Polar Bears into action at the 2012 Team National Championships this weekend at Harvard.
