• Four Polar Bears Earn All-NESCAC Squash Recognition

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Four Bowdoin College squash players have earned All-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors in selections announced by the league on Thursday. Lauren Gesswein (Fairfield, Conn.) earned First Team All-Conference on the women's side while first-year Stephan Danyluk (Williamstown, Mass.) and seniors Rahul Madan Mohan (Cleveland, Ohio) and Andy Bernard (Boston, Mass.) were named Second Team for the men.

    PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bowdoin College women's squash team placed 20th in the nation at the College Squash Association National Team Championships last weekend at Princeton University. The Polar Bears went 1-2 in the Walker Cup "C" Division to finish their season with a record of 7-16. Captain Lauren Gesswein carded a perfect weekend (3-0) at the number one position to improve to an astounding 17-6 this season.

The Polar Bears win their first conference match of the season and improve to 3-11 (1-3 NESCAC) overall.

The 13th-ranked Bobcats improve to 10-8 (4-3 NESCAC) while the 21st-ranked Polar Bears drop to 2-11 (0-3 NESCAC). Bowdoin will host 20th-ranked Colby Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.

The Polar Bear men defeated Stanford but fell to Amherst and St. Lawrence while the women defeated St. Lawrence but fell to Stanford, Amherst, Franklin & Marshall and Mount Holyoke.
