Tickets will be available at Ryan Field for Sunday's game with ticket prices set at $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and students and $2 for children ages 3-12. Bowdoin students and children under 3 are free of charge.
Bowdoin College Polar Bears (13-5)
The Bowdoin College Polar Bears are making their seventh appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament after finishing as the NESCAC Runners-up last weekend...Bowdoin boasted one of the toughest schedules in the nation this year, as nine of their 18 games came against ranked opponents...the Polar Bears knocked off 14th-ranked Wesleyan and 2nd-ranked Amherst en route to the NESCAC final before falling to 6th-ranked Middlebury...Hannah Hirschfeld, Eliza Denious and Grace DeWald were all recognized in All-NESCAC honors last week... the Polar Bears' offense has ridden a youth movement as four of the team's top-five scorers are first-years or sophomores...Bowdoin's defense, however, features three seniors including goaltender Kayli Weiss (10.00 GAA)... Rookie Katie Miller set the program's first-year goalscoring record (46), breaking a 35 year-old mark set by Jill Bermingham (40) in 1983...The Polar Bears are ranked ninth in the latest IWLCA Division III poll and return to the Tournament for the first time since 2015...Bowdoin has reached the regional finals (Elite 8) on five occasions, including a trip to the national title game in 2011.
Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks (14-5)
Stevens brings a 14-5 record into the NCAA Tournament, won the Empire 8 regular season title and made an appearance in the Empire 8 title game last Sunday...the Ducks earned victories over two ranked teams this year; No. 12 Wesleyan University and No. 20 St. John Fisher College in back-to-back games at the end of March...this is the first NCAA appearance for Stevens since winning back-to-back Empire 8 Championships in 2010 and 2011. Both years ended with appearances in the Sweet 16. Incidentally, the Ducks' last NCAA game was against Bowdoin, a tight 13-10 loss on May 14, 2011 played at Trinity College....Julianna Ricci and Kyra Bednarski both reached 100 career goals in the same game that head coach Celine Cunningham reached 200 career wins at Stevens and the Ducks clinched the regular season Empire 8 title (4/25 vs. Sage)... Kyra Bednarski was the National Player of the Week on April 2 after the Ducks knocked off two nationally-ranked teams that week.
