BRADENTON, Fla. - Emma Beecher and Megan O'Connor had four goals apiece to lead the fifth-ranked Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team to a 15-6 win over Mount Holyoke in a game played in Florida on Monday.

The Polar Bears improve to 5-0 while the Lyons drop to 2-3.

Beecher added two assists to go with her four goals while also scooping three ground balls in the win. O'Connor had two ground balls in addition to her four scores. Taylor Wilson did a little bit of everything for the Polar Bears, scoring two goals, assisting on three others and earning five draw controls. Lindsay Picard also scored twice and had three draw controls for Bowdoin.

Julia Bell led Mount Holyoke with three goals while Charlotte Wagner had two.

Beecher scored twice in the opening 3:54 of Monday's contest as Bowdoin took an early 3-0 lead. The Lyons were able to trim the lead to 3-2 following a pair of goals from Bell, but Bowdoin answered with a 4-0 surge that pushed their lead to 7-2.

The Polar Bears led 7-3 at halftime, and extended their lead to 9-3 thanks to markers from O'Connor and Beecher early in the second frame. The Lyons made it interesting with three straight goals to cut into the Polar Bear advantage, 9-6, with 12:51 to go. However, Bowdoin scored the final six goals of the game to put the contest away.

Isabel Sippel made two saves in goal for Bowdoin while Isa Rodriguez made 21 saves for Mount Holyoke. Bowdoin held a 45-11 advantage in shots the Lyons committed 32 turnovers. Genna Warner led Bowdoin with three caused turnovers on the day.

The Polar Bears will return to action tomorrow with a game against St. Lawrence in Bradenton at 10:00 a.m.
