• Liz Grote Named IWLCA Pilgrim Region Coach of the Year

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin head women's lacrosse coach Liz Grote has been named the 2011 IWLCA Pilgrim Region Coach of the Year. Grote led the Polar Bears to a program record in wins and the team's first-ever appearance in the Division III "Final Four" this past spring. In the process, she became the most successful coach in school history with 104 victories.

Senior Ingrid Oelschlager (Roanoke, Va.) led the way for the Polar Bears, earning First Team All-American recognition, and was joined by juniors Liz Clegg (Hudson, Ohio) and Katie Stewart (Chevy Chase, Md.), who netted Third Team All-American.
