Women's Lacrosse Team Earns IWLCA Academic Squad Recognition

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team has been named as an Academic Squad honoree by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. In order to receive recognition, a team must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average for the season.

No stranger to academic awards, the Polar Bears had five players earn Academic All-NESCAC status during the spring semester, including all three graduating seniors Abbie Mitchell, Becca Austin and Taylor MacCormack. Juniors Megan McFarland and Ingrid Oelschlager also reached Academic All-NESCAC status.

The Polar Bears finished in a tie for second place in the NESCAC standings, going 10-6 (6-3 NESCAC) in 2010.
