BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's ice hockey team is the fifth seed and will travel to Hamilton for the NESCAC Quarterfinals on Saturday, February 24. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

The game will be carried live on the Northeast Sports Network.

It is the second straight season that Hamilton (13-7-4, 9-4-3 NESCAC) will host a quarterfinal against Bowdoin (12-8-3, 6-7-3 NESCAC). The Continentals have the best defense in the NESCAC, allowing 1.08 goals per game, and lead the conference with a 96.2 penalty kill percentage. Hamilton is looking to advance to the semifinals for the first time in since 2007 and in search for the program's first NESCAC title.

Bowdoin is the No. 5 seed for the first time since 2015. The Polar Bears went 3-1-2 in the final six games and a sweep of Trinity in the final series of the regular season helped them secure the No. 5 seed. Bowdoin has three NESCAC titles to their credit and last won a title in 2013.

During the regular season, the Polar Bears held a 1-0-1 edge against Hamilton, winning 2-0 in game one and playing to a 0-0 draw in the second contest. The Polar Bears own a 3-0 advantage against the Continentals in the NESCAC Championship series. Last year, Bowdoin posted a 1-0 double-overtime victory in Clinton, N.Y. as the No. 6 seed.
