Stuart Cady was named the head coach of women's golf at Bowdoin in the spring of 2018.

A native of Orono, Maine, and Certified PGA Professional, Cady assumes the position from Marissa O'Neil, who had led the program since 2012. O'Neil will continue to be head coach of the Polar Bear women's ice hockey team.

"We're thrilled to have Stu join our athletic department staff and continue the growth of women's golf at the College," said Associate Director of Athletics Alice Wiercinski. "His extensive background, genuine enthusiasm, and passion for teaching the sport made him an easy choice to be the next head coach of the program."

"I am fortunate for the opportunity work with these impressive student-athletes," said Cady. "The passion and pride they have for Bowdoin, the game of golf, and all their extracurricular activities, makes Bowdoin the special place that it is. I am excited to become part of the Bowdoin family and to live 'the way life should be.'"

Most recently the Head Golf Professional at Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Cady owns an extensive background in the sport. He was the youngest PGA professional to achieve all six major certifications by the PGA (General Management, Golf Operations, Instruction, Retail, Executive Management, Ownership/Leasing), and has been a PGA of America "Class A" Member since 2005. He has also served as a pro at the Weston (Mass.) Golf Club and The Country Club (Brookline, Mass.) among other locations.

A 2004 graduate of Arizona State University, Cady was the 1997 Maine State Class C individual champion at Orono High School. His wife Erin is the head women's volleyball coach at Bowdoin.
