BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin junior Maddie Hasson has earned New England Small College Athletic Conference, New England Women's Basketball Association and Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week honors for her performance last week.
Hasson was outstanding as the top-ranked Polar Bears earned a pair of conference wins, including a road victory at fourth-ranked Tufts last weekend. Hasson averaged 23.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and shot 76.0 percent (19-for-25) from the field in a pair of wins for the Polar Bears. She scored 25 points and grabbed 10 boards against Bates on Friday and totaled a game high 21 points with seven rebounds, hitting on 9-of-11 shots from the field, at Tufts on Saturday.
The junior from South Portland High School is enjoying a breakout campaign, averaging a team and career-best 15.5 points per game, connecting on a 65.7% of her shots from the field.
The top-ranked Polar Bears head to Bangor on Tuesday night to play at Husson. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
