BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin sophomore Maddie Rouhana (Falmouth, Maine) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Rouhana batted .438 and slugged 1.063 last week for the Polar Bears, who went 5-0 including a sweep of Bates to close out the NESCAC regular season. Five of her seven hits were for extra bases, including walkoff home run in Game 2 against Bates on Saturday. She finished the week with two home runs, 10 RBIs, and scored four runs with an on-base percentage of .500.
The sophomore from Falmouth High School has enjoyed a sensational campaign, batting .362 with a team-leading 16 doubles, five homers and 43 RBI this spring.
Bowdoin will play in the NESCAC Tournament next weekend as they will face Amherst in the quarterfinal round at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Tufts University. A complete preview will be posted later this week.
