Coach Pizzo's Report - March 4

The Polar Bears competed in two regattas to start our 2019 season.  Both events were limited to Sunday only because of the snow throughout New England on Saturday.  The Women's Team Race Invite at BU was cancelled early on Sunday due to a lack of wind.

Down at Brown, the Polar Bears competed in the Sharpe Trophy against seven other teams from New England.  After a brief wind delay, racing begin in a moderate southerly breeze with incoming current.  The Polar Bears have had limited practice time so far this spring, but finished 6-1, only losing to Dartmouth right near the finish line.  Competing for the Polar Bears was Matt Kaplan, Matt Safford, Christian Filter, Alden Grimes, Emily Gonzalez, Marie Bergsund, Louisa Lindgren, and Julia Adams.

The team heads to Florida this upcoming weekend, competing in the Rudkin Team Race before a week of training out of the Ransom Everglades School in Miami.
