Coach Pizzo's Report - March 22

The Polar Bears had a great spring training trip down at Eckerd College in Florida.  We had great weather and were able to practice in terrific conditions.  The team was able to scrimmage against USF, Eckerd, and Yale while we were in Florida.

This past weekend, the Polar Bears returned north and competed at the St. Mary's Women's Interconference Regatta and the Southern New England Team Race.  Down at St. Mary's, eighteen races were competed in both divisions with the Polar Bears finishing 7th overall, just two points away from 4th overall.  The team had many great races but struggled at time in the shifty conditions.  Competing the the Polar Bears was Erin Mullins '16, Olivia Diserio '16, Ellis Price '18, Courtney Koos '16, and Sydney Avitia-Jacques '18.

The Southern New England Team Race was hosted by Connecticut College in tricky conditions on the Thames River.  The breeze was in and out all weekend which only allowed for eight team races for the Polar Bears.  The team had great wins against Brown and URI but struggled with starting.  We hope to rebound this upcoming weekend at the Admiral Moore hosted by SUNY Maritime College.

The Polar Bears will compete in the Duplin Team Race hosted by Tufts, the BU Team Race, and the Admiral Moore hosted by SUNY Maritime.
