Nordic Skiing Opens Season Friday at St. Lawrence Carnival

BRUNSWICK, Maine - A change in venue has been announced by the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Associaton on the eve of the Bowdoin College nordic team's season debut. The Polar Bears, who will open at the St. Lawrence Carnival this weekend with a classic race Friday at the Olympic Jumping Complex in Lake Placid.

Saturday's freestyle race will take place, as originally scheduled, at Mt. Van Hovenberg. All races this weekend will commence at 9:30 a.m.

Head coach Nathan Alsobrook will begin his fourth season at the helm of the Bowdoin nordic program. The Polar Bears finished 10th overall at the Eastern Championships last winter and will look to improve on that mark this winter with a plethora of returning athletes, captained by senior Grace Hyndman and junior Wilson Dippo.
