Men's NCAA Tennis Regional Begins Thursday at Bowdoin (VIDEO)

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team will host an NCAA Division III Regional beginning on Thursday afternoon at Pickard Courts in Brunswick.

The action begins on Thursday at noon with a first round match between Yeshiva (14-7) and Eastern Nazarene (16-7). The winner advances to play Bowdoin (16-4) at 1:15 p.m. on Friday with TCNJ (15-3) and Skidmore (15-5) to follow at 4:00 p.m. Saturday's regional final is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. unless Yeshiva advances, in which case the regional final would be on Sunday. The indoor site for all matches is Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness Club in Brunswick.

Bowdoin Notes: One of the most decorated programs in Division III tennis, Bowdoin has reached the quarterfinals in each of the past three seasons, winning the NCAA Championship in 2016 and finishing as runners-up last spring…Bowdoin senior Grant Urken won the ITA Hall of Fame Grass Court Invitational last fall and just over a week ago became the winningest player in school history, currently with 91 career victories…he is the defending NCAA Division III singles champion…Bowdoin is 8-1 against non-NESCAC schools this season with its lone out-of-conference loss coming to top-ranked CMS on March 16…Bowdoin's senior class of Urken, Jerry Jiang, Luke Carstens and Aidan McGrory have a four-year record of 80-14 and a 12-2 mark in NCAA Tournament play.
