NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team defeated Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon, 8-1, to extend their season-opening winning streak to ten matches.
The second-ranked Polar Bears stand at 10-0 this spring following the win.
- Bowdoin held a 2-1 lead following doubles play thanks to wins at #2 from Luke Carstens/Tristan Young (8-4) and at #3 from Aidan McGrory/Alan Delman (8-2).
- The Polar Bears swept the six singles matches, all by straight-set decisions.
- Kyle Wolfe (6-1, 7-5), Justin Wang (7-6, 6-3), Tristan Young (1-1, ret.), Luke Carstens (6-4, 6-1), Luis Cuervo (6-1, 6-4) and Alan Delman (6-0, 6-0) rounded out the Polar Bear winners.
- Bowdoin is off until Sunday, April 8, when they battle Amherst in their first home match of the season at 2:00 p.m.
