BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin men's tennis players Grant Urken (Purchase, N.Y.) and Luke Tercek (Washington, D.C.), along with head coach Conor Smith, have been recognized in All-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors announced on Thursday.

Urken was named as a First Team singles selection while the duo of Urken and Tercek were tabbed as Second Team doubles choices. Both players qualified individually for the NCAA Division III Championships in singles play selections announced last week. The individual competition begins on May 25 with the bracket to be announced next week.

Urken, a sophomore, nets his first All-Conference selection after a phenomenal campaign that saw him rack up a 27-6 record in singles play this season. Playing at the number two position for the Polar Bears in dual matches, he has totaled a 16-4 mark this spring.

Tercek and Urken captured Second Team doubles honors on the back of a fantastic spring campaign that saw the duo go 12-9 in their debut season, playing exclusively at the #1 position.

Conor Smith of Bowdoin was voted the NESCAC Coach of the Year by his peers for the second straight year and the third time in his six-year career, having also received the accolade in 2012 and 2016. Smith led the No. 4-seed Polar Bears to their second NESCAC Championship and first since 2008. Bowdoin, the defending national champions, will return to the NCAA Quarterfinals next Monday against Washington University.
