Wolfe and Jiang Claim ITA Regional Doubles Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College doubles pairing of Jerry Jiang and Kyle Wolfe won the 2016 Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Regional Championship on Sunday at Williams College.

Thanks to the victory, the duo automatically earns All-American status and will compete at the ITA National Championship.

Weekend Highlights

  • Seeded third, Jiang and Wolfe earned a first-round bye before defeating a Colby duo 8-4 and a Tufts pairing 8-2 to reach the quarterfinals
  • Following wins over Amherst and Williams teams to reach the final, the Polar Bears faced Will DeQuant and Lubomir Cuba of Middlebury
  • In a hard-fought battle, Jiang and Wolfe captured a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 victory to win the crown
  • Grant Urken was Bowdoin's  top performer in singles play, reaching the quarterfinals with three victories over players from Colby, MIT and Bates before falling in a three-setter to Josh Marchalick of Amherst
