BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team is seeded second for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament scheduled at Bates College this weekend.

The Polar Bears (14-2, 7-2 NESCAC) earned a first-round bye and await the Williams/Amherst winner in Saturday's second round. Bowdoin will play the second round match at 4:30 on Saturday afternoon. Sunday's NESCAC Championship is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

The Polar Bears' only losses this season came in 5-4 decisions against top-seeded Middlebury and fifth-seeded Tufts, as they matched their highest seed in program history. Bowdoin was also the No. 2 seed in 2007. Prior to its loss to the Panthers on April 17, the Polar Bears had won 11 straight matches in March and April. Bowdoin won its lone conference title in 2007 when it upended Middlebury by the score of 5-4.

The Polar Bears are 1-1 versus Williams and 0-3 versus Amherst in their respective all-time postseason series. This season, Bowdoin defeated Amherst, 9-0, on April 10 and Williams, 8-1, on April 23.
