BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team dispatched Colby on Thursday afternoon, 7-2.

Winners of seven of their last eight matches, the 12th-ranked Polar Bears improve to 9-5 this spring (4-1 NESCAC). The Mules fall to 11-5 (2-3 NESCAC) with the loss.

Bowdoin took a 2-1 edge following doubles play thanks to #1 pairing Sam King and Luke Trinka, who outlasted Carl Reid and Vlad Murad of Colby 9-8. Jack Bryant and Matt Carroll accounted for the lone Colby victory in doubles, 8-2 at #2, while Chris Lord and Chase Savage teamed to take a win at #3 for Bowdoin, 8-2.

The Polar Bears sealed the victory with wins in five of six singles matches. Trinka, King, Kyle Wolstencroft, Savage and Hugh Mo all took straight-set wins at positions 2-6 for Bowdoin. Reid earned a point for Colby with a win at #1 singles, 6-4, 6-2, against Noah Bragg.

Bowdoin will travel to Vermont for a clash with #8 Middlebury on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Colby will host Connecticut College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
