HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team swept a pair of matches in Connecticut on Saturday afternoon, posting dominating wins over Wesleyan and Trinity.

The 10th-ranked Polar Bears blanked Wesleyan 9-0 in the morning before taking a 6-1 decision over Trinity in the afternoon. Bowdoin moves to 5-5 this spring (2-1 NESCAC) and will return to the court on Saturday, April 7 at Tufts.

The Polar Bears did not lose a set against the Cardinals, earning wins across the board in singles play as well as a sweep of doubles. Chris Lord, Casey Grindon, Noah Bragg, Doug Caplan, Nichols Fenichell and Peter Davis earned singles points for Bowdoin. Pena teamed with Sam King, Fenichell played with Andrew Won and Alex Jacobs combined with Kent Winingham to earn the doubles victories as the Polar Bears' depth was in full display.

Against 24th-ranked Trinity, Bowdoin took a 3-0 lead after doubles as King/Pena, Kyle Wolstencroft/Doug Caplan and Lord/Grindon all earned wins. Sam King netted a point at #2 singles as Bowdoin also took points at #3 from Chris Lord and #4 from Casey Grindon to clinch the 6-1 victory.
