Sullivan Leads Polar Bears at ITA Regional Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin's Stephen Sullivan led a strong contingent of Polar Bears at the men's Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Championship last weekend at Williams. Sullivan collected three wins to advance to the semifinal round of the tournament.

The second seed in the tourney, Sullivan easily advanced to the quarterfinal round with a pair of straight-set victories. In the quarters, Sullivan won a battle with Matt Micheli of Williams, 6-7 (3), 7-5, 6-2 to reach the semifinal round. In the semis, Sullivan was bounced by eventual champion Felix Sun of Williams, 6-4, 6-2. Sam King and Casey Grindon also picked up first-round singles wins at the tournament.

In doubles play, Sullivan teamed with King to earn a first-round victory while Chris Lord combined with Josh Roer to also collect a first-round win.
