Men's Tennis Rallies For Big Win at Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team stole a doubles point and won the top four singles matches to take a 5-4 win over the University of Redlands on Saturday afternoon. The 20th-ranked Polar Bears improve to 4-1 this spring with the win over the 18th-ranked Bulldogs.

Stephen Sullivan and Josh Cranin both earned multiple points, including a key win at #3 doubles as the Polar Bears trailed 2-1 entering singles action. The duo then both cruised in their singles matches, at #1 and #3, before Jamie Neely and Nicholas Fenichell closed out the victory at #3 and #2, respectively, with Fenichell clinching the match on a second-set tiebreaker. The Polar Bears have two remaining matches on the west coast and both promise to be key contests. Bowdoin will play at fifth-ranked Claremont on Tuesday before facing 15th-ranked Trinity (Conn.) on Wednesday in Claremont.
