Bowdoin Rallies to Dump Texas-Tyler in Opener

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Down 3-0 after singles play, the Bowdoin College men's tennis team rallied to take a 5-4 win over the University of Texas-Tyler in their spring opener on Monday. The Polar Bears are ranked 11th in the nation entering this week, while Texas-Tyler stood 20th overall in Division III.

After struggling in doubles play, Bowdoin left little doubt in the singles matches, winning a quintet of contests in impressive fashion. Stephen Sullivan took a steady 6-4, 6-2 win at the top spot as Alex White (#3), Tyler Anderson (#4), Alex Caughron (#5) and Josh Cranin (#6) all took straight-set wins to clinch the victory.
