HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin men's squash team placed eighth at the NESCAC Tournament this weekend at Trinity College.
The Polar Bears (6-14), who defeated Hamilton in the first round Friday, lost three consecutive matches on Saturday and Sunday to fall to eighth place in the championship. Bowdoin lost to Middlebury in the quarterfinals 8-1 before falling to Wesleyan, 6-3, and Amherst, 6-3, in the consolation rounds.
- In the quarterfinals against Middlebury, Bowdoin got its lone point from Matthew Cooper at number two, who earned a comeback 3-1 (9-11, 11-3, 11-6, 11-8) win
- Against Wesleyan, the Polar Bears received wins from Ben Bristol (3-1) at number three and Alex Reisley (3-2) at number four. Henry Haig also earned a point at number eight (3-2) for Bowdoin
- In the loss to Amherst in the seventh-place match, Cooper took another win at number two (3-0) while Reisley (3-2) and Arjun Dravid (3-1) took victories at number four and nine, respectively
