• Squash Trio Earn All-Conference Recognition

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Three Bowdoin College squash players have been recognized as All-New England Small College Athletic Conference performers in honors announced on Thursday. Junior Lauren Gesswein was named First-Team All-NESCAC on the women's side while Senior David Funk collected First-Team recognition for the men's team.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team improved on their national ranking and finished 14th at the College Squash Association National Tournament at Yale last weekend. The Polar Bears, ranked 15th entering the tournament, went 1-2 in the Hoehn "B" Division and finish their season with an overall record of 13-11.

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - The brackets for the 2010 College Squash Association National Tournament have been announced and Bowdoin College is seeded 15th and will play in the Hoehn Cup "B" Division at Yale University beginning on Friday, February 19. The Polar Bears (12-9) will open at 12:30 p.m. against 10th-seeded Williams, who took an 8-1 decision over the Polar Bears on January 10.

    LEWISTON, Maine -- The No. 11 nationally ranked Bates College men's squash team defeated No. 15 Bowdoin 7-2 in a NESCAC match Friday night at the Bates Squash Center. It is Bates' 15th straight win against its rival, a streak dating back to 2002. Bates also wins the CBB series over Colby and Bowdoin for the ninth consecutive season. The Polar Bears stand at 5-5 overall this season.

The women's team dropped a 9-0 decision to eighth-ranked Williams College to fall to 2-2 overall this season. The men's team fell 8-1 to the 10th-ranked Ephs and stand at 3-2.
