• Seven Polar Bears Earn All-NESCAC Squash Honors

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Seven Bowdoin College squash players were recognized as All-New England Small College Athletic Conference performers in post-season awards handed out by the conference on Thursday. Led by women's first-team choice Elena Laird (Cambridge, Mass.), the Polar Bears had three women and three men earn second-team selections.

    PRINCETON, N.J. - The Bowdoin College squash team went 2-1 last weekend to claim 18th place in the nation at the CSA National Tournament. Bowdoin, who advanced to the finals of the Summers Bracket with wins over George Washington and Tufts, dropped their final match to Middlebury, 5-4. The Polar Bears finish their campaign with a record of 12-13. Arun Makhija and Robert Lynn led the squad with perfect 3-0 showings in tournament play.
  • Men's Squash Sweeps Final Weekend of Regular Season

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's squash team extended their season-best winning streak to four with a trio of home victories last weekend at the Lubin Family Squash Center. The Polar Bears downed Tufts (7-2), MIT (9-0) and Northeastern (8-1) in impressive fashion to close out their regular season with a record of 9-12. Bowdoin will return to action on February 20 at the CSA Team National Tournament hosted by Princeton University. Draws will be announced later this week.

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College squash team suffered a 9-0 loss to rival Bates on Thursday evening. The Bobcats improve to 7-4 overall this season while the Polar Bears fall to 5-9 and will play at Brown on Saturday. Rahul Madan Mohan posted the strongest showing for Bowdoin, falling in a five-game decision at number four.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - The Bowdoin College squash team edged Colby 5-4 in a match between the NESCAC rivals played on Wednesday evening. The Polar Bears improve to 5-8 this season and have won four of their last six matches overall. The Polar Bears will host Bates in a match on Thursday evening.

    HANOVER, N.H. - The Bowdoin College men's and women's squash teams each split a pair of matches this weekend at Dartmouth College. The men's team defeated Connecticut College 6-3 before falling to Dartmouth 9-0. The women's squad eased past the Camels 8-1 while also dropping to the Green, 9-0.
