Squash Teams Split Matches on Opening Weekend


HANOVER, N.H. - The Bowdoin College men's and women's squash teams each split a pair of matches this weekend at Dartmouth College. The men's team defeated Connecticut College 6-3 before falling to Dartmouth 9-0. The women's squad eased past the Camels 8-1 while also dropping to the Green, 9-0.

The Polar Bear men and women both open the season ranked 13th nationally in their respective divisions.

Against Connecticut College, the Bowdoin women rolled thanks to sweeps at the number 1 through 5 positions. Elena Laird, Alex Franchesci, Biz Gillespie, Elizabeth Warner and Katie Boyce controlled the top of the ladder for the Polar Bears, who also got wins from Megan McFarland, Isabel Nassief and Aileen Tschiderer at positions 7-9.

The men's team captured wins at numbers 2-7, with Andy Bernard, Rahul Madan-Mohan, Rob Stanley, Arun Makhija and Robert Lynn taking wins.
