BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin senior Moctar Niang (New York, N.Y.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
Niang helped lead Bowdoin to a comeback 3-1 win against Bates during the week and then scored the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over previously unbeaten Connecticut College. Niang also played a key role in shutting out the Camels defensively as the Polar Bears allowed just four shots on goal in the match.
Playing out of the backfield this season, Niang has tied his career-high with six goals and an assist this fall, moving his career totals to 18 goals and four assists in 67 career matches.
The Polar Bears will close out their regular season on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. when they host Tufts.
