Trinity Eliminates Bowdoin From Playoff Hunt in 2-0 Men's Soccer Victory

HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College men's soccer team scored a goal in each half on its way to a 2-0 win over Bowdoin on Saturday. The loss drops the Polar Bears (4-6-3, 1-6-2 NESCAC) from playoff contention.

With one game remaining in the regular season, the Polar Bears have five points in league play, sitting tenth in the conference. Hamilton sits eighth with ten points, just beyond Bowdoin's reach for the final playoff spot.

Dan Mayernick scored in the 19th minute for the Bantams and Julian Gocksch scored in the 50th to seal the win for Trinity. Will Wise was not credited with a save for Bowdoin while Grant Schonberg made six stops for the Bantams. Both teams took 11 shots on the afternoon.
