KEENE, N.H. - The Keene State men's lacrosse team outscored Bowdoin 10-5 over the final 19:36 to pull away in a 18-13 win on Wednesday evening.

The Owls improve to 2-2 this spring while the Polar Bears drop to 0-3.

David Nemirov scored a team-high five goals for Bowdoin while Brandon Rothman added four goals. Rob Hart and Tyler Reilly scored five goals each for the Owls.

After Keene scored the opening two goals of the game, Bowdoin answered with four straight, courtesy of Daniel Buckman, Peter Reuter, Matthew Crowell and Rothman, to take a 4-2 lead late in the first quarter. Keene answered with five straight goals of their own to reclaim a 7-4 advantage, but Rothman scored again late in the second to trim the lead to 7-5 at the break.

David Nemirov scored all three goals in a 3-1 Bowdoin spurt to open the second half, tying the game at 8-8 with 6:05 left in the third quarter. From there, Hart and Reilly took over, scoring the next five Keene goals to spark a 6-1 run that gave the hosts a 14-9 lead with under 12 minutes to play.

Peter Mumford made 14 saves in goal for Bowdoin while Dylan Florian stopped 13 for the Owls. Rob Talcott won 18 of 31 face-offs and grabbed a team-best 12 ground balls for the Polar Bears.

The Polar Bears will look to get into the win column on Saturday in their home opener against Hamilton. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
