BRUNSWICK, Maine - The 16th-ranked Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team jumped out to 7-1 lead and was never threatened in a 10-6 win over Colby on Tuesday evening at Ryan Field.

The Polar Bears (10-3, 6-3 NESCAC) reach the 10-win plateau for the first time since 2009 and snap a five-game win streak by the Mules (7-4, 4-4 NESCAC).

On Senior Night at Ryan Field, senior co-captain Mark Flibotte scored a game-high four goals with an assist for Bowdoin. Christopher Williamson continued his stretch of hot play in goal for the Polar Bears by notching 20 saves. Billy Bergner had two goals and three helpers for Bowdoin while Conor O'Toole scored twice for the Polar Bears. Ian Deveau scored three times for Colby while Greg McKillop had two assists. Peter Reiley stopped seven shots for the Mules.

Tied a one early in the first quarter, Bowdoin rolled off six consecutive goals and held Colby scoreless for 33:26. David Nemirov scored shortly before halftime to give the Polar Bears a 6-1 edge at halftime and Bergner made it a 7-1 contest early in the third quarter.

Aided by a pair of man-up opportunities, the Mules scored consecutive goals in a span of 1:04 to trim the lead to 7-3. Bowdoin responded with two goals in the final 2:22 of the third period to grab an insurmountable 9-3 advantage.

Brendan Hughes won 12 of 20 faceoffs for Bowdoin and had eight ground balls. Griffin Cardew had two caused turnovers and three ground balls for the Polar Bears, while Matthew Egan also had three ground balls. Colby was led by nine ground balls from Bjorn Knutson and three caused turnovers apiece from Nick Hunnewell and Buddy Reed.

Colby will host Middlebury on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in their next contest. Bowdoin will return to action at Endicott on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
