HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity men's ice hockey team pinned a 3-0 setback on Bowdoin on Saturday evening.
The Polar Bears return to Brunswick with a 6-14-2 (3-12-1 NESCAC) mark. The Bantams (14-3-5, 10-2-4 NESCAC) are riding a four-game winning streak.
Game Highlights
- With under five minutes to play in the first period, Trinity's Ryan Pfeffer picked off a loose puck in the neutral zone and passed to Nicholas Polsinelli for two-on-one. Alex Zafonte made the save on Polsinelli's initial shut, but Pfeffer buried the rebound.
- Trinity tallied a pair of goals in the third period. Adam Anderson wristed a shot just below the crossbar from just inside the zone.
- Five minutes later, at the periods halfway point, Taggart Corriveau fired a shot from the point off a feed from Lucas Michaud.
- Bowdoin's best look came off the stick of Bradley Ingersoll who watched a shot bounce off the crossbar and into the netting to force a faceoff.
By the Numbers
- Zafonte made 40 saves for the Polar Bears. The sophomore has tallied 40 or more stops in three games this season.
- Tedy Loughborough made 28 stops for the Bantams.
- Bowdoin went 0-for-2 on the power play.
- Trinity went 0-for-3 on the power play.
