2017-18 Recap (15-9): The Polar Bears opened the season with six straight wins, entering December undefeated. Bowdoin began NESCAC play with an 8-2 overall record and won its conference opener over Bates at home with a 71-50 result. The team earned the eighth seed to the NESCAC tournament after finishing the year with a 4-6 record and played at top-seeded Amherst in the first round. Bowdoin nearly earned the upset as the Mammoths won the game 71-70 on a layup with three seconds remaining. David Reynolds '20 was named Second Team All-NESCAC at the conclusion of the season
2018-19 Preview: Bowdoin returns its top two scorers in Reynolds (15.4 PPG) and senior captain Jack Simonds (15.0 PPG). Co-captain Hugh O'Neil paced the Polar Bears with 8.8 rebounds per game last year and joins Simonds as the only two players to start all 24 games in 2017-18. With his rookie season under his belt, Zavier Rucker will control the point for Bowdoin after averaging over 31 minutes per game last year. Bowdoin will not play in Morrell Gym until November 29 when Colby comes to Brunswick. The Polar Bears open their season against Albertus Magnus at 7:00 p.m. on November 16 in the Western Connecticut State Colonial Classic. NESCAC play begins with a league weekend against Bates and Tufts on January 4-5. Bowdoin will hit the road for the remainder of January before hosting Middlebury and Williams the first weekend of February.
